Maci's 5k Fridays

In August, Maci & I participated in 5k Fridays to benefit the other displaced animals that Lost Dog Rescue helps to find their forever home. Here are some highlights:

After parking the car we head to the race area to get set up. 

We waited patiently to pick up our race bibs. 

 We got our bibs and started to get ready to race. 

 

Maci had her own timing piece!

Switching her from her leash to a harness.

Maci kept me motivated. Every time I started to slow down she rubbed her head on my hand and bit her leash a bit as if to say, "no, let's go, you can do it"

We have this material across the two front seats so that she's not tempted to climb up front. Clearly she just wanted to get closer to us because she found a spot to stick her head through and be closer to us.

Nothing Gets By Maci - Not Even a Turtle

Neil took Maci for a hike in the woods yesterday (trying to stay cool in the 100+ degree heat. Maci spotted a Turtle and didn't know exactly what to do. Neil said that she ran around it for a few minutes, barked, looked at it, pawed around it and kept poking the ground around it with her nose. The turtle froze until Maci came really close at which point it hid inside its shell and Maci barked as if to demand it come back out. Silly girl.
